Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber announce split

Naomi Watts and Liev Schriber have parted ways after 11 years together.

The actors, who have two children, announced their separation on Monday in a joint statement, according to Entertainment Tonight.

The pair's last red carpet appearance was earlier this month

“Over the past few months we’ve come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple,” read the statement.

“It is with great love, respect and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship.”

They added: “While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press to be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy.”

The couple have decided to part ways after 11 years together

Though the couple never married, they have been together since 2005. They are parents to sons Alexander, nine, and Samuel Kai, seven.

The pair’s last red carpet appearance together was earlier this month at the Toronto Film Festival, where they attended the premiere of The Bleeder.

Naomi recently shared this snap of Liev and their son 

There hasbeen no sign of the pair’s split on their social media accounts. One week ago,Naomi posted a photo of her husband and son Sasha as they attended the Emmystogether.

“Dapper duohere… #twinning #crushingit #goodluck #raydonovan @lievschrieber#proudbeyondwords,” she wrote.

And earlierthis month, Liev shared a stunning snap of Naomi at a party. “Ay dios mio…,” hecaptioned the shot.
