It's been six months since magician Paul Daniels lost his battle to cancer. And now, his wife Debbie McGee has reflected on how she copes with life without him.

"When you are asked what you miss most about someone that you loved you can't answer that question, you just miss them," she confessed.

"For me on a day-to-day basis it's the fact that Paul made me laugh every day. From the moment we got up, we laughed."

Debbie McGee has reflected on how she copes with life without late husband Paul Daniels

The 57-year-old lost her husband in March, just a few days before the couple's 28th wedding anniversary. She has been putting on a brave face since he passed away, weeks after he was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.

"From diagnosis he died four weeks and five days later," she continued. "So there really wasn't time to think about what was happening. You just had to get on with the situation and look after him.

"So it wasn't until after he died that a huge realisation washed over me that I am out here on this earth on my own. Being on my own, the best thing that works for me is just to keep really busy."

Talking about her day-to-day activities, Debbie revealed keeping busy has helped enormously.

"Getting out into my garden just makes me feel better and forget about things," she added. "I just forget my grief. Then in the evenings one of the rabbits will sit with me on the sofa and I will put my feet up, and that is my company.

"The only emptiness I feel is the lack of him, rather than a lack of things to do with my life."
