Andy Murray has revealed that he was once followed around Europe by a hotel maid, who he found stroking his arm while he slept. The tennis star said he woke to find the woman sitting on his bed, despite him hanging the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on his door, and subsequently saw her at several other tournaments.
Andy, who is currently in Beijing competing in the China Open, spoke about the incident to the Scotsman.
Andy Murray has revealed he was once stalked by a hotel maid
"At one of the tournaments I played, there was this maid in the hotel," the 29-year-old said. "I had the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door and she came in and sat on my bed, and started stroking my arm at about seven in the morning while I was still sleeping.
"She then turned up at a couple more tournaments in the hotels that I was playing at in Rotterdam and Barcelona. I don't know if that is a fan thing, but that was a bit extreme."
In the interview, Andy also opened up about some of his biggest ever purchases, and revealed that he once bought a Range Rover even though he hadn’t passed his driving test.
The tennis star named wife Kim Sears as "the most gorgeous person in the world"
"My apartment that I bought in London would be the biggest thing I ever bought," he said. "But I bought a Range Rover which I couldn't actually drive because I didn't pass my driving test until I was 22. But my girlfriend drove it for me, and for herself."
On the subject of his now-wife Kim Sears, Andy sweetly named her number one when asked who he thought was the "most gorgeous person in the world", adding that actress Halle Berry would be second on his list.
