She made her film debut as a child in the 1982 smash-hit musical Annie, propelling her to worldwide fame. And now, actress Aileen Quinn is all grown up! The 46-year-old, who played the loveable freckled-faced orphan in the iconic movie, is almost unrecognisable from her appearance in the movie, in which she delighted crowds with catchy songs, including It’s a Hard Knock Life and Tomorrow.

Gone are her bright red curly locks, replaced by luscious auburn waves - but the famous child star will always be remembered for her feisty alter ego.

After the success of Annie, Quinn stepped away from the big screen but did the voiceover of Dorothy Gale from the 1982 animated film of The Wizard of Oz.

She also featured in 1983's The Charmkins and The Frog Prince in 1986, before going to university to study political science.

Aileen now works as a theatre professor at Monmouth University in New Jersey, and is also the leading lady of Los Angeles-based rock band The Leapin' Lizards.

Last year, the American actress reunited with legendary actor and Annie co-star Tim Curry at a Tony Awards viewing party after 33-years.

Speaking to People about their emotional reunion, Aileen revealed Tim - who played Rooster Hannigan in Annie - was the only cast member she hadn't met since the film.

"Tim was the one [co-star] I hadn't seen in 30 years," she confessed. "It was very emotional because what people don't realise about him is how kind he is in real life."

"When I came up to him I was like, 'Tim, do you remember this face?' And he said, 'Of course I do!' and he had kind of this wry smile," she added. "He has that twinkle in his eye as always. Even though it's not quite the same as 30 years ago because he's older now, we had a very nice moment."
