Anastacia will perform on Strictly Come Dancing with dance partner Brendan Cole this Saturday, it has been confirmed.

The 48-year-old, who missed last week's dance-off, was forced to change her salsa routine after tearing a scar from a double mastectomy during rehearsals.

"The doctor again confirmed that there was a tear in the scar tissue, which although painful is not permanent," a spokesperson said. "She was given the all clear to dance this weekend with the caveat that the routine is carefully choreographed and she has been given the appropriate medication.

"Brendan was with her for her appointments and they have been filmed for this weekend's episode. The specialist will be monitoring her condition regularly and she will revisit them on Monday."

After reaching the bottom two and pulling out of the Strictly dance-off, Melvin Odoom and Janette Manrara were the first celebrities to be eliminated as the result went to the public vote.

The statement continued: "The specialist will be monitoring her condition regularly and she will revisit them on Monday. She is doing this to raise money for breast cancer, so unless a doctor tells her she can't carry on, quitting would never be an option. Anastacia and Brendan are now in rehearsal."

The songstress first discovered she had breast cancer in 2003, a decade later she had to cancel her European tour after being diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time.

"It has been an intense journey," she explained after undergoing surgery. "But l am feeling great and ready to start the next chapter.

"You just gotta do what you gotta do," she added. "And I'm cancer free forever, breast cancer free at least, and that has been all worth the struggle."
