Holly Willoughby received a treasured gift this week in celebration of Winnie the Pooh's 90th birthday. The delighted TV star shared a photograph on Instagram on Thursday, showing her holding a personalised hand drawn sketch depicting her meeting the beloved bear.

The colour drawing sees Holly looking down at the children's character, who is smiling back up at her and holding a blue balloon. "This is so so special…. Grew up with this little fella #pooh90 Happy anniversary," Holly wrote alongside, before adding a famous Winne the Pooh quote by author A.A. Milne: "I think we dream so we don't have to be apart for so long. If we're in each other's dreams, we can be together all the time."

The picture will no doubt prove a big hit in Holly's household; the This Morning presenter is a mum to three children, Harry, seven, Belle, five, and two-year-old Chester, who are all likely to be big Winnie the Pooh fans.

In honour of the 90th anniversary of the first Winnie the Pooh book this week, four new adventures have been published, along with the introduction of a brand new character. Penguin makes his debut in the book Winter: In which Penguin arrives in the Forest, written by Brian Sibley.

The character is based on a photograph of Pooh author A.A. Milne and his son Christopher playing with a penguin.

"While pondering what other toys Christopher Robin might have owned, but which were never written about, I remembered seeing a photograph of father and son playing on the nursery floor with Winnie-the-Pooh and a penguin!" writer Brian told the BBC.

"The thought of Pooh encountering a penguin seemed no more outlandish than him meeting a kangaroo and a tiger in a Sussex wood, so I started thinking about what might have happened if, on a rather snowy day, Penguin had found his way to Pooh Corner," he added.
