Although she shut down plans to take part in a Spice Girls reunion, it seems Mel C might have had a change in heart after revealing her fears of being turned away if she tries to join them on stage.

Former bandmates Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Mel B recently confirmed that they are teaming up once again and are in the midst of writing new music ahead of their highly-anticipated comeback - despite Mel C's and Victoria Beckham refusal to join in.

When quizzed about what it would be like to hear the threesome sing their hit tunes, the 42-year-old admitted to Daily Mirror: "I think I'll find it weird. People have talked to me about the gigs and they're like, 'Are you going to go?' I'd find it really weird."

The mother-of-one, who is focusing on her new solo album Version of Me, did confess that she will be there to support the girls and cheer them on from the sidelines.

"I want to support the girls, of course," she added. "I think I'd probably have to get up with them. They'd be like, 'Get off, you said no!'"

In August, Mel - real name Melanie Chisholm - penned a heartfelt essay explaining her decision not to get involved with the Spice Girls reunion.

"The fascination with the band never seems to go away," she wrote in Love magazine. "It's a blessing and a curse all at the same time. Daily I'm asked 'Are they girls getting back together?' Then it's 'When?' 'How?' 'Why?'

Former bandmates Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Mel B recently confirmed that they are teaming up once again

"When we reunited in 2007 the questions stopped momentarily. We had done it – the fans were happy and we were happy. But the minute that tour ended it started again."

She continued: "Truth be told, earlier this year after several face-to-face meetings with the girls I made the difficult decision not to be part of a proposed reunion with Emma, Geri and Melanie. Victoria had already bowed out understandably with the demands of her fashion label and her rather large family.

"The hardest part for me was letting people down, the girls, the fans, civilisation?! Unfortunately, something didn't feel quite right and I had to follow my gut."

The world famous girl group released their debut single in 1996 and are set celebrate two decades in the spotlight this year. They originally agreed on an 'indefinite hiatus' in 1998 when Ginger Spice Geri decided to leave the group.

However, the stars put their differences aside in the next decade and reunited in their original formation with a tour called The Return Of The Spice Girls, which also included a performance at the London 2012 Olympics.
