Liam Payne has jetted back to LA amid increasing reports that girlfriend Cheryl is expecting their baby. The 23-year-old singer took to Instagram on Wednesday morning to update his fans, writing: "Good to be back in LA… writing trip two wish me luck…" alongside a selfie.
Despite the intense media scrutiny surrounding the couple, neither Cheryl nor Liam have so far commented on the pregnancy rumours. And it's clear that Liam is keen to focus his attention on his music career.

Earlier this week, the One Direction star signed a new solo deal with Republic Records, and he took to Twitter on Monday to share the exciting news. "Amazing to have signed to @RepublicRecords I am celebrating as I tweet, thank you so much for accepting me to your roster of amazing artists," he wrote.
No sooner the announcement been made than #congratsliam started trending on social media – but it seemed some fans had got the wrong end of the stick. A number of 1D followers mistakenly assumed that the hashtag meant Liam had confirmed Cheryl's pregnancy, causing a social media meltdown.
"#congratsliam I had i little heart attack because i thought this hashtag confirm that Liam will be a dad," confessed one Twitter user. Another added: "That moment when you come on twitter, then you read #CongratsLiam and think @LiamPayne confirmed he's gonna be a dad."

Meanwhile, has been reported that 33-year-old Cheryl will finalise her divorce from Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini this week. A source confirmed to the Sun on Sunday that the couple's union will officially come to an end on Thursday, adding that Cheryl is "delighted" to be leaving the marriage behind her and moving on with her life.
"This has been the result of months of negotiations," the insider said. "After months of debate Cheryl is really relieved the terms have been finally agreed by both sides."
