Holly Willoughby's cat Roxy has sadly passed away, and the This Morning presenter took to social media to say goodbye to her beloved pet.

The 35-year-old posted a close-up photo of the beautiful feline looking straight into the camera, writing: "Goodbye my friend... RIP Roxy," accompanied by a broken heart emoji.

Roxy sadly passed away

Fans of the star were quick to offer their condolences and share their own experiences on losing much loved pets, with one writing: "So sorry Holly. The cat has amazing eyes…as a pet owner myself I feel your loss."

"Sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is so hard," another added.

Holly previously brought Roxy onto This Morning for a pet psychic segment back in 2010, in which the psychic Joanne revealed that Roxy sensed Holly would have second child "very soon".

The mother of three children Harry, seven, Belle, five and Chester, two, also shared a video of the cute cat earlier this year with her 1.5 million Instagram followers which showed Roxy lying on the floor playing with a goldfish toy. Holly proudly captioned the video: "Seriously lazy cat! Meet Roxy!"

The presenter is currently busy with her latest project as the host of new dating show Meet the Parents, in which the contestant meets their potential suitor's parents to decide who they would like to date.

As HELLO! reported previously, in the first hilarious episode the presenter decided to waxing a contestant's leg in front of a live audience after his mother joked that he has the "hairiest legs."

Speaking about the new show, she said: "We all know how embarrassing parents can be and nobody knows you better than they do. I can't wait to hear what humiliating secrets they'll be revealing and see who will regret leaving their love life in the hands of their parents."
