She is a Hollywood star in her own right, but in 2004 Dakota Fanning was a young school girl when she made a guest appearance in the last series of Friends - in which she starred alongside fan favourite Matt LeBlanc. Fast-forward to twelve years, the former co-stars delighted fans across the world when they enjoyed a mini reunion during a recent episode of Live! with Kelly.

The 22-year-old actress, who was promoting her new film American Pastoral, relived her fond memories on the hit sitcom, when she played a young girl called Mackenzie who formed an unlikely friendship with Joey (LeBlanc).

"Matt LeBlanc was here, and you worked with him," Ripa told the star during her interview, to which she replied: "I did, yeah. I was on the last season of Friends for an episode, and all my scenes were with Matt. I think I was nine or 10, something like that."

Moments later, Matt - who was backstage - slowly crept behind her and gave her quite the surprise. He told her: "Long time, no see! You're so big. You were like this when I saw you last."

Fanning soon opened up about the time she was majorly stars truck when she met the Friends actor, saying: "I still remember it, and I remember talking to Matt in the breakfast area on the stage, like, on a rehearsal day.

"He was asking me something -- I don't remember what you were asking -- but I was not answering, or not giving the right response. Then I remember my mom was standing next to me, and I looked up at her, and she was like, 'What has happened to you? Like, what is wrong?'"

The pair later posed for a sweet Instagram shot, which was simply captioned: "A #Friends reunion with #MattLeblanc and @DakotaFanning!! #LiveKelly @JohnLeguizamo @mleblanc."
