Michael Phelps is officially a married man. The Olympic star has tied the knot with his girlfriend, Nicole Johnson, in a romantic ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Saturday. The special occasion marks the second time round for the pair after they wed in secret in June this year.
Taking to his Instagram page over the weekend, the 31-year-old competitive swimmer shared a beautiful picture from their special day. In the caption, he simply wrote: "My best friend.... I love you!!"
Nicole, 31, looked incredible in a beautiful off-white gown, designed by Julie Vino. The striking ensemble featured an intricate embellished bodice and a daring thigh-high slit in the skirt. Her brunette tresses were swept into a chic updo, while her pretty facial features were highlighted with subtle tones of make-up.
Earlier in the week, news of Michael and Nicole's June 13 secret wedding ceremony was unveiled after TMZ obtained a copy of the pair's marriage certificate. The former Miss California and the Baltimore boy were married in Paradise Valley, Arizona in a ceremony officiated by Michael's agent and close friend, Peter Carlisle.
Shortly after the surprise revelation, Michael took to social media to confirm the news during a Facebook live chat. He said: "I've been married for a while, a couple of months."
"I had to keep it secret from you all. I had to keep it hush hush from you guys," he added. "Nicole and I are married. We are officially married and now we are getting the chance to just kind of kick it [and] hang out now."

Michael and Nicole began dating in 2009, and briefly split three years later. The gold medallist popped the question to Nicole in February of 2015 and over a year later in May, the pair welcomed their first child, Boomer Phelps.
In August, the sports star - who retired as the most decorated Olympian of all time - talked about the idea of giving Boomer a little sister. "We would love a girl," he told People magazine. "Love, love, love a girl. We wanted a boy first, just in case we did have other children, [so] he could be the protector of his younger sibling or siblings."
He continued: "So we started off on a perfect note: We got a boy. We got a beautiful, healthy baby boy, and we’re looking to continue to grow our family."
