Lindsay opened up about her accent

The Mean Girls star also tweeted positive messages following her post, writing: "Wake up every morning and feel the love surrounding you. You are all the most important people in the world to me. Beauty comes from within. Let's all work together to create world peace."

She opened up about the origin of her new accent, which was revealed while chatting to reporters at a club opening in Athens, explaining that her changing voice was due to learning several different languages at once.

"It's a mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn," she told The Daily Mail.

"I've been learning different languages since I was a child. I'm fluent in English and French, can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian and Arabic."

Her mother Dina confirmed that Lindsay speaks several languages, telling Entertainment Tonight: "She is a worldly person, that is what makes her so special and so beautiful. She taught herself to speak French, Arabic, Hebrew and the list goes on. She has a very high IQ and is very intelligent and can pick up any language in a minute. She has that gift."

Lindsay has not been afraid to poke fun at herself after the Internet went into a frenzy over her new voice, tweeting: "What should I call my new accent? I'm thinking #LILOHAN."

One fan jokily referenced her two roles as British and American twins in The Parent Trap, tweeting: "Annie and Hallie were actually triplets but no one in THE PARENT TRAP knew where Gerta ended up — *until now*."

"Haters will say its fake @lindsaylohan but I think your new accent is fire," another added.
