Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky are reportedly dating after the pair were spotted enjoying a romantic date in New York City earlier this week.

Although the pair have yet to officially confirm their romance, they looked affectionate as they held hands while walking through the city on Wednesday evening, and were spotted sharing a kiss as they stood outside a florist.

Jennifer and Darren were spotted enjoying a date night

The Black Swan director, who shares a ten-year-old son with actress Rachel Weisz, laughed with the Silver Linings Playbook actress as they put their arms around each other. According to reports, the pair grew close after working on a film together over the summer, and were first spotted enjoying dinner together back in August.

A source spoke to People about the couple's new romance, comparing it to the 26-year-old Oscar winner's relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin back in 2014. They said: "She struggled when she dated Chris and seemed very stressed out.

"With Darren, it will probably be different. He does not attract attention like Chris does. He does not seem like a person who enjoys being a celebrity. Jennifer is the same."

The pair reportedly met during filming over the summer

The star has previously spoken about the pressure of being in the spotlight, particularly in regards to body image.

"I would like us to make a new normal-body type," she told Harper's Bazaar back in May.

"Everybody says, 'We love that there is somebody with a normal body!' and I'm like, 'I don't feel like I have a normal body'. I do Pilates every day. I eat, but I work out a lot more than a normal person. I think we've gotten so used to underweight that when you are a normal weight it's like, 'Oh, my god, she's curvy'. Which is crazy. The bare minimum, just for me, would be to up the ante."
