Although she is happily married to American film director Justin Theroux, Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston has revealed she felt "shamed" over the constant scrutiny she faced as a woman after her divorce from ex-husband Brad Pitt.
The Friends star, 47, recently penned a candid essay for Huffington Post where she hit back at speculation about whether or not she was pregnant.
Discussing the heartfelt post in a new interview, Jennifer confessed she did not like being "whittled down to a sad, childless human".

Jennifer Aniston has said she felt 'shamed' after her divorce from Brad Pitt
"My marital status has been shamed; my divorce status was shamed; my lack of a mate had been shamed; my nipples have been shamed," she told Marie Claire. "It's like, 'Why are we only looking at women through this particular lens of picking us apart? Why are we listening to it?'
"I just thought, 'I have worked too hard in this life and this career to be whittled down to a sad, childless human.'"
Jennifer and Brad were famously married for five years before divorcing in 2005, the same year he was filming Mr & Mrs Smith with Angelina Jolie.

And although Jennifer has not commented on Brad's split from Angelina, her husband Justin recently gave a surprisingly honest response when quizzed about his thoughts.
"As a child of divorce, all I can say is that's terrible news for those children, and that's all you can really say," he told Business Insider. "It's boring to sort of comment on anything else. People are having a bad time. That's horrible."
Theroux and Aniston tied the knot in August 2015 in a private ceremony in Los Angeles after dating for four years.
