Kanye West has been admitted to hospital suffering with exhaustion after cancelling his Saint Pablo tour. The 39-year-old was taken for treatment after police were called to reports of a disturbance at his home on Monday. The LAPD confirmed it had responded to a call at around 1.20pm, but said the incident had been deemed a "medical emergency".
A source close to the star told People: "He is exhausted and currently dealing with sleep deprivation. He went to hospital at will under the advice of his physician. He is fine." The insider added that, contrary to some reports, Kanye "was not restrained" and that "he went freely".

Kanye's wife, Kim Kardashian, was expected to appear at a New York City social event on Monday night – her first public appearance since she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris – but she did not attend. Her mother, Kris Jenner, did speak to reports at the Angel Ball, however, shortly before news broke about her son-in-law's treatment.
Asked why Kanye had cancelled his tour, Kris told Extra: "He's exhausted, he's just really tired. He's had a gruelling tour and it's been a grind so he just needs some rest."

Kanye had announced that he was cancelling all remaining dates on his tour after abandoning a Sacramento performance at the weekend. He had performed just three songs on Saturday night, before embarking on a lengthy rant, criticising Jay Z, Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg and Hillary Clinton.
His behaviour has caused some concern amongst his fans about the state of his mental health – but a friend of the star denied that he is in the midst of any sort of breakdown.

"It's nothing like that," the source told People. "He's just exhausted. He's been working around the clock on fashion design, both on his own line and the Adidas line. He's a notorious workaholic, so balancing both that work – which is extremely important to him – and the rigours of the tour every night, it really wore him out."
