Fellow comedians Dawn French and Mark Trevorrow were some of the first stars to wish the pair their congratulations. The Vicar of Dibley actress simply said "wooooohoooooo! Xxx," while the Australian comic posted, "Oh my dearest darlings - sincere congrats and much love to you both. Thrilled!"
The couple - who live together in a 15th-century manor in Aldington, Kent - have been together since 2005 after meeting on a yacht in Ibiza. Last year when promoting his book, The Bolds, Julian touched on marriage, saying: "I shall wait until he asks me. We do talk about it but we are happy as we are - we didn't even do a civil partnership. But I am definitely spoken for in that department and we don’t go in for any of that open nonsense. Life is complicated enough. The idea of that big day, and everyone there, I don't know, maybe one day, if we're in the mood.
