Jennifer Aniston was given a very special treat this Thanksgiving. The Friends star recently opened up about her holiday celebrations in an upcoming episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show - and revealed she had originally been planning to spend it without husband Justin Theroux because he was stuck in Germany. "My husband, who's been away for almost a year surprised me on Thanksgiving, came home from Germany," she told chat show host Ellen.

The actress - who has been married to Justin for a year - explained that the couple host a Friendsgiving for fellow "orphans" each year, but this time round Justin told her that his schedule was far too busy for him to make it. "Everyone came to the house and no one really understood that Justin was not going to be there and you just saw everybody's face just start to fall," she recalled. "The whole room got really depressed. I was like, 'Guys: I'm here! I understand Justin's not here, but it's going to be okay!'"

"I gave the toast at the head of the dinner table, which is usually me and Justin. And I gave, I guess, a very unimpressive toast where people were like 'meh, great. Let's eat.' Then salads came out and everyone was just very sombre and next thing you know, turkey walks in and there was another turkey holding that turkey, and that was my hubby! He came in with the turkey."

Jennifer's sweet story comes just a few weeks after she spoke of the 'shame' she faced as a woman following her divorce from ex-husband Brad Pitt. The 47-year-old hit back in a candid essay for Huffington Post, where she also addressed speculation about whether or not she was pregnant.

Discussing the heartfelt post in a new interview, Jennifer confessed she did not like being "whittled down to a sad, childless human". "My marital status has been shamed; my divorce status was shamed; my lack of a mate had been shamed; my nipples have been shamed," she told Marie Claire. "It's like, 'Why are we only looking at women through this particular lens of picking us apart? Why are we listening to it?' I just thought, 'I have worked too hard in this life and this career to be whittled down to a sad, childless human.'"

Jennifer and Brad were famously married for five years before divorcing in 2005, the same year he was filming Mr & Mrs Smith with Angelina Jolie. Jennifer then tied the knot with Justin in August 2015 in a private ceremony in Los Angeles after four years of dating.
