Michelle Obama welcomed military families to view this year’s Christmas decorations at the White House this week.
More than 90 volunteer decorators from 33 states arrived on Thanksgiving to begin the decorating the White House. Task ranged from hauling boxes to hanging lights and wreaths.
This year's theme, 'The Gift of the Holidays,' is meant to encourage people to reflect on "the true gifts of life". The Blue Room tree arrived on Friday and it took workers four days to get the piece ready.
"We're going to be celebrating our country's greatest gifts, with special decorations celebrating our military families," said Michelle.
The Red Room looked picture perfect with additional wreaths and trees.
The Grand Foyer was decorated with heavily adorned Christmas trees.
The gingerbread White House, which dates back to the 1970s, was positioned in the State Dining Room.
The State Dining Room featured two beautiful trees sat on each side of the chimney.
