Liam Payne's sister has spoken for the first time about speculation that her brother and girlfriend Cheryl are expecting a baby together. There has still been no official pregnancy confirmation from the couple – but 33-year-old Cheryl appeared to debut her baby bump this week as she stepped out for a carol concert with Liam.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Ruth Gibbins defended the pair’s decision not to comment on the reports. "Bump or no bump, announced or not, it's completely up to my brother and Cheryl what parts of their private lives they choose to share and when," she wrote.

Her followers were quick to agree. "Exactly. It's their life they have a right to keep somethings private, they don't owe people an explanation," one fan wrote, with another adding: "Totally true, I'm sick of people mixing things that do no concern us. I just want the happiness of Liam."
But a third commented: "I agree in one way, but also think it's silly not just saying especially when it's so obvious she is pregnant."
All eyes were on Cheryl and Liam when they stepped out together on Tuesday
After weeks and weeks of speculation, Cheryl and Liam put on a united front as they stepped out together on Tuesday – and all eyes were on Cheryl's rounded tummy. Unsurprisingly her 'pregnancy' was a hot topic the following morning, with Good Morning Britain star Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid among the first to publicly congratulate the parents-to-be.

Commenting on snapshots of Cheryl and her bump, Piers said: "Congratulations Cheryl – but if you're watching this, you can't kid a kidder. You're pregnant, get on with announcing it. We are very happy for you."
The couple are yet to comment on the pregnancy reports
Mum-of-three Susanna, who estimated that the star was around six months pregnant, added: "Is it reasonable at this point to say, 'Are you pregnant?' There's no longer a food baby!", before her co-host quipped: "I think we can get past the 'is she or isn't she'. She's about to give birth!"
