Katie Holmes has revealed that no matter how busy she is, she always makes sure she is home by 10pm to be dependable for her daughter, Suri.
Chatting to Modern Luxury, the former Dawson's Creek star said: "When I'm not on set, I'm being a mum. I'm doing mum stuff. When I go to an event, I leave at 10 pm because it's really important to me to be a mom that is dependable." The dedicated mum also revealed that her ten-year-old daughter is often surrounded by her cousins, saying: "We do a lot of cousin time with my nieces and nephews. I think the most important thing in my life is giving my child the childhood I want her to have. That comes first. That dictates where I work and when I work because it's my main job right now."
Katie shared a sweet snap of herself with Suri
Katie recently made her directorial debut with film All We Had, which focuses on a mother-daughter relationship. Of the movie, she said: "A mother's love is greater than anything; it's definitely a universal theme. I think seeing Ruthie fight her mother is natural… But Rita is very much a child herself, which makes them more original in their relationship. I felt like we haven't seen that kind of story too much between mother and daughter. I thought that was worth telling."
Katie opened up about motherhood
Katie has previously opened up about motherhood, telling The Evening Standard: "The number one thing is making sure my child feels loved. And good about herself. And that what she does and who she is, is special and important, and should be celebrated." She also regularly posts snaps of Suri on her Instagram account, proudly showing off her daughter's interests which include baking, dancing and theatre.
