Celine Dion jumped on Facebook Live on Thursday 1 December to perform a very special holiday song for her beloved fans. The Canadian songstress streamed live from her studio, where she is hard at work on her new English album.
Celine performed a holiday song live on Facebook.
"As you know this past year was filled with bittersweet moments for me as it has been for others I'm pretty sure," said the mother-of-three, referring to the loss of her husband René Angélil. "Since we're here in the studio tonight, I thought of offering you my version of one of my favourite holiday songs," said Celine, adding: "I hope you like it. Happy Holidays. Be blessed and be safe. I love you all."
The 48-year-old then delivered a breathtaking rendition of Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson's Winter Song, complete with a pianist and cellist.
For fans who missed the performance, Celine has promised to post the video on her official YouTube channel.
The singer called the last year "bittersweet"
The star opened up about her husband's tragic passing in January during an interview with CBS's Mo Rocca. She said: "Before he left, it was very, very difficult for all of us. For me especially, and my children, to see the man of my life die a little bit more every day. And when he left, it was kind of a relief for me that the man that I love, the only man that I kissed, the only man that I loved... So the man of my life was my partner, and we were one. So when he stopped suffering I said to myself, he's ok. And he deserves not to suffer."
