Cheryl has opened up about her Christmas plans, and why the holiday is her "favourite time of year".
The former Girls Aloud singer, who revealed her baby bump at the Fayre of St James Christmas Carol Concert in London on Tuesday, told the Mirror: "[Christmas is] my favourite time of year. It's a nostalgic thing – I'm from a big family and Christmas was so magical when I was a kid. Now I live it vicariously through my nieces and nephews. I love watching the magic in their little eyes."
Cheryl's baby bump was snapped on Tuesday
She spoke about how much she enjoys watching old Christmas films with her nieces and nephews, and how Elf, Home Alone and The Grinch are among her favourites. "The lead up is my favourite bit," she admitted. "I love the excitement so much. I'm actually a bit bluesy afterwards, when it's Boxing Day and it's all over."
The star, who has yet to comment on her reports that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Liam Payne, revealed that she doesn't "need anything" for Christmas this year. "I used to really look forward to what I was going to get, but now I just don’t need anything," she admitted. "I just love the quiet time, the family time. Being with people, that's what's important to me. I like giving gifts more than receiving them. Selfishly. I actually get more pleasure out of watching their faces, giving them something they really want."
Cheryl and Liam have yet to comment on whether they are expecting a baby
Although Liam and Cheryl have yet to comment on whether they are expecting a baby together, Liam's sister Ruth Gibbins has defended the pair's decision not to comment on the reports. Taking to Twitter, she wrote: "Bump or no bump, announced or not, it's completely up to my brother and Cheryl what parts of their private lives they choose to share and when."
