Coleen Nolan has confirmed that her son Jake Roche and his fiancée Jesy Nelson have split. The couple have been the subject of break-up rumours for weeks, after Jesy was pictured without her engagement ring.

However it seems the sad news is true. During an appearance on Loose Women, Coleen was asked by chat show host Ruth Langsford whether the pair had split. "Yes, they have," said Coleen, looking visibly upset.

"They're both dealing with it really well and they are still good friends," said Coleen Nolan

Much to the relief of fans, Coleen did reveal that the break-up was amicable and that Jesy, 25, and Jake, 24, are still on good terms. "It's amicable on both sides," she said. "They're both dealing with it really well and they are still good friends. It's a lot to handle when you are young."

Coleen also spoke about the expectations on people to marry as soon as they get engaged. "It was the same with Jake and Jesy," she said. "Everyone was asking about the wedding."

Jesy spoke about heartache, saying: "You have to go through the stages of just crying"

The confirmation comes after Jesy spoke about how she deals with heartache. Chatting to BANG Showbiz on Sunday, the Little Mix singer said: "You have to go through the stages of just crying it out. Be around your friends and having that support and then you get yourself out and you mingle."

Jesy said "yes" to Jake in July 2015, although the pair said they were in "no rush" to exchange vows. Split rumours circulated last month when Jesy unfollowed her husband-to-be on Instagram and was consequently pictured not wearing her diamond ring.

Jake has just revealed his band's new song

Fans have been worried about Jake's silence and cryptic posts. A few weeks ago he posted drawings of black clouds and left them uncaptioned. "This is about you and Jesy??" wrote one fan, while another asked: "What's going on??" Another fan pleaded: "Jake don't do this is scary."

The Rixton singer has since revealed that the black clouds refer to his band's new song, I Swear She'll Be The Death Of Me.
