It looks as if Cruz Beckham is following in his mother's footsteps. The 11-year-old – the youngest son of Victoria and David Beckham – unveiled his debut single, If Every Day Was Christmas, on Capital FM on Wednesday morning.

Speaking on the radio, the aspiring singer told host Dave Berry that the track is "two of my favourite things - singing and Christmas." Proceeds from the single's sale will be going to Global's Make Some Noise charity, which helps disadvantaged young people in the UK.

Football ace David, 41, soon appeared in the background and hailed his son's achievement. "I'm really proud, he's having fun and he's enjoying it," the father-of-four revealed, later admitting that he still found the whole thing slightly "strange".

Cruz then opened up about what Christmas is like inside the Beckham household, confessing that his father likes to play pranks. "We always wake up at 6am, we go downstairs and my dad says, 'Wait, let me check if there's presents downstairs,' then he runs back up and says, 'Ah, there's none!'" he explained. The youngster also admitted that his fashion designer mother is the first to fall asleep when watching TV and revealed that she is also the one who is most likely to say a "bad word".

Earlier this week, Cruz - who is being managed by Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun - launched his own Instagram account, which he has been using to promote the new song. Alongside a picture, he wrote: "Welcome to my new page. Something exciting to share with you all this week!"

Victoria - who also has Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 14, and five-year-old Harper with her husband David - previously talked about Cruz's musical abilities during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. She said: "We didn't even realise he could sing. He's always the one that plays football, and he was just sitting in the back of the car one day, and he was singing, and I was like, 'Wow, you can really sing!' And then he picked up his cups, and off he went!"
