Carrie Fisher recently revealed that she had an affair with Harrison Ford back in the 1970s in her tell-all memoir The Princess Diarist, and the star has now opened up about the surprise media attention that surrounded the story at the time, calling the reaction "a little embarrassing."

Chatting during an interview onThe Graham Norton Show, the actress admitted that she didn't expect the revelation that she had a brief affair with the Indiana Jones actor when he was 34 and she was 19 would be of such interest. "I had no idea it would cause such a sensation," she admitted. "400,000 news sites picked up on it and it became a little embarrassing. They made a lot of things up which I've now have to talk about – I never said he was bad in bed!"

Carrie revealed she had an affair with Harrison in the 1970s

She revealed that the pair had never spoken about their fling to anyone, and she asked his permission before publishing the book. "I waited 40 years," she joked. "It's an old story. I told him, 'I've found the diaries I kept during the first Star Wars and I'm thinking of publishing them.' He joked about sending for a lawyer so he was aware of them and I told him that if there was anything he didn't like he should let me know. I sent them to him and waited for him to get back to me. He is incredibly private and I am sure the whole thing bugged him but he comes out of it well. I liked him."

"I promise you no one knew – not even Mark Hamill and when I told him he was shocked. Harrison and I never spoke about it again. I saw him a lot because I became friends with his second wife and I can remember three times when we were all together that I, of course, made an oblique reference to it and he just grunted! I do feel guilty – I never thought about it before, but I guess he will be asked about the affair for the rest of his life!" In the memoir, Carrie praises Harrison highly, writing: "I looked over at Harrison. A hero's face – a few strands of hair fell over his noble, slightly furrowed brow. How could you ask such a shining specimen of a man to be satisfied with the likes of me? I was so inexperienced, but I trusted something about him. He was kind."
