Michelle Keegan reveals what she and husband Mark Wright want in their Christmas stockings!

December 12, 2016

Our Girl star Michelle Keegan is giving us paws for thought with her ideal Christmas present this year, as she tell HELLO! that top of Santa’s list is a very special gift for her eight-year-old sausage dog Phoebe.

“This year what I want in my Christmas stocking is a dog ramp for my bed, for my dog Phoebe to get up and down,” she tells HELLO! in her Christmas message. "She’s a sausage dog and I'm always worried that she'll hurt her back by jumping up and down, so I've asked my mum for a ramp! It's not very glamorous, is it?”

Still, the former Coronation Street actress and husband Mark Wright are adding a bit more glamour to the adorable gift with a bit of DIY decoration.

“We're getting new carpets in the house so we've saved a bit of carpet to put on [the dog ramp] as well, so it goes with the room,” she laughs.

The petite actress says her festive plans are just as down to earth, with the key being lots of quality time with the couple’s extended family.

“Usually on Christmas Eve we get into our new Christmas pyjamas and eat lots of gorgeous Christmassy food and watch films. We usually get up quite early and open our Christmas presents all together, with crumpets and some Bucks Fizz, and then we dress up and go and have dinner all together.”

“My mum does the cooking,” she admits. “I don't do any of the cooking, I just set the table. And my favourite part of the meal is the stuffing.”

Michelle finishes her message with a please for reader to donate to Great Ormond Street Hospital, and we hope that you will join Michelle and HELLO! by supporting this very worthy cause. We all like to be with our loved ones this time of year. For the families of patients at Great Ormond Street Hospital, this is especially true.

With your support, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity could help fund family accommodation so mums, dads, brothers and sisters can stay close by, or help fund the creation of bigger rooms in new hospital wards so parents of the most seriously ill children can stay by their bedside 24 hours a day.

The charity also funds play specialists so that children can enjoy some festive fun despite going through very difficult times, and funds research and equipment that will enable the hospital to find new cures and save more lives.

Every donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity will help keep families together this Christmas. And be sure to check back tomorrow to find out which of our wonderful celebs will be popping out from door number 13!
