Louis Tomlinson's late mother Johannah Deakin has thanked fans for "changing his life" in a touching final message. Written just before her tragic death last week, Johannah told Louis' supporters that they had been "amazing from the start".

The message was shared by her heartbroken widower Dan Deakin on Johannah's Twitter page. "Hi, it's Dan. Johannah asked for me to send this afterwards," he wrote. "She wanted to thank you all, and to let you know that you have been amazing right from the start. You changed Louis' life, but also her life.

On Tuesday Louis returned to Instagram for the first time since his mother's death to thank his fans. The star shared a photo of himself and Steve Aoki performing their track Just Hold On on The X Factor on Saturday night, writing alongside: "Thank you for the incredible support ; )."

Poignantly, Louis' last Instagram post prior to that was a photo of him with Johannah, shared just two weeks before her death. "My mother looking gorgeous before the Brits earlier this year," he wrote. "I love you and miss you so much!" The photo has now received more than 1.5million likes.
