As X Factor judge and former Pussycat Doll, fans might be expecting Nicole Scherzinger's Christmas to be full of only the most glamorous parties, but for the UK-based American singer the holidays are about one thing only: family.

"My favourite Christmas tradition is just being with my family and eating lots of yummy home-cooked food," she told HELLO!, describing the festive meal with relish.

"It's like a Sunday roast times ten. We have turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables and all the fixings, pumpkin pie and pecan pie, everything. And hanging out with my family, playing cards, games, heads up, charades, and then eating some more and chilling out! And this Christmas I'll probably be surfing at the beach as well."

Nicole, who is Catholic, said that her favourite Christmas songs are those she gets to sing in church over the holidays. "I'm sure that we'll sing some Christmas carols at church, because I go to church with my family every Christmas," she said fondly, before moving onto her favourite holiday films.

"There's this movie they play in America on repeat. I think it's A Christmas Story, where the kid wears a onesie and gets his tongue stuck on a pole; I don't know if y'all have that here but really, it's a classic. I like A Charlie Brown Christmas as well."

Nicole was delighted to get involved in HELLO!'s campaign to support Great Ormond Street Hospital over the season, and recalled her own visits to the children's charity.

"I've been to Great Ormond Street and I thought the kids were mind-blowing and so inspiring. I met really intelligent kids, kids who were full of life, really strong and courageous kids. They were all badass ninjas in their own way," she said. "I met a good little buddy of mine, Lucas. It's been a few years now and he's grown so much. He's out of the hospital and came to visit me on X Factor this year."

She added a message to HELLO! readers who might like to donate to the charity.

"The holidays are coming around, I mean, it's the reason for the season to make sure in the spirit of everything to give back. To give love, give of your heart, you time, your energy, your money, any way that you can because you'll get it back tenfold," she said. "Please support all the beautiful families and children at Great Ormond Street! Sending you all lots of big fat love and kisses - have a Shamazing Christmas and a merry new year."

We hope that you will join Nicole and HELLO! by supporting this very worthy cause. We all like to be with our loved ones this time of year. For the families of patients at Great Ormond Street Hospital, this is especially true.

With your support, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity could help fund family accommodation so mums, dads, brothers and sisters can stay close by, or help fund the creation of bigger rooms in new hospital wards so parents of the most seriously ill children can stay by their bedside 24 hours a day.

The charity also funds play specialists so that children can enjoy some festive fun despite going through very difficult times, and funds research and equipment that will enable the hospital to find new cures and save more lives.

Every donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity will help keep families together this Christmas. And be sure to check back tomorrow to find out which of our wonderful celebs will be popping out from door number 17!
