In what will be the show's last hoorah on the BBC before the programme moves to Channel 4 in the new year, the two episodes will see eight previous contestants going head to head to create a series of festive treats, including favourites Howard MiddletonJames Morton and Chetna Makan. The show would not be complete without a dessert or two, and Mel and Sue ensure to tick that box by dressing up as Christmas Puddings.

The gang are set to embark on new adventures come the new year, with Paul Hollywood being the only remaining original member to move to the new series on Channel 4.

However, she made sure to bid a particular farewell to the shows well loved catchphrase: "I wish the programme, crew and future bakers every possible success and I am so very sad not to be a part of it. Farewell to soggy bottoms."
