Christmas has landed at the Woods household! Ronnie and his wife Sally are well and truly getting into the festive spirit and rightly so – the couple are celebrating their twin daughters' first Christmas.

The Rolling Stones legend, 69, has been making his daughters' costumes – adorable Christmas pudding outfits made of papier-mâché – from scratch. Sally, 38, shared a photo of her husband hard at work, putting the finishing touches to the fancy dress.

The couple, who welcomed their twins Alice and Gracie in May, also treated their girls to a day out at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, where the youngsters met Father Christmas. Sharing a selfie from their outing, Sally wrote on Instagram: "Santa was a hit."

The tots were adorably dressed in matching Santa outfits, complete with red hats and stripy, woolly tights. "Good times at Christmas," Sally captioned another family selfie of Ronnie and the girls.

The theatre producer has recently spoken about her love for Christmas. "Ronnie was playing Phil Spector's Christmas album in October and we still haven't taken down the lights from last year," she told You magazine. "But this year it will be our first Christmas with the girls."

"Honestly, being a mum is great, we have two little girls and we're happy. I don't take any of it for granted," she added.

Ronnie, who has four older children, is very much a hands-on dad. He changes nappies, does the night feeds and cooks meals for his wife. "He says the babies keep his hours," Sally laughed. "So he's really happy to be up in the night with them."

The festive season is extra special for Sally and Ronnie. The lovebirds are celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary four days before Christmas. Each year the guitarist gives Sally a piece of jewellery featuring a ruby – a nod to their engagement when Ronnie gifted his fiancée a ruby necklace.

Addressing their 30-year age gap, Sally admitted she found it "rude" when people speak unkindly of it. "Yes, he is older and I am younger, but I don't think about age when I think of Ronnie," she said. "He's always had this unbelievably positive, youthful energy about him, which I absolutely love."
