Over the past few weeks she has been busy promoting Little Mix's latest album, Glory Days, and their highly-popular song, Shout Out To My Ex. And during a new interview, Jesy Nelson has revealed that breaking up with a partner is perhaps one of the most "horrendous" things she has endured.
Speaking shortly after the end of her own engagement to fellow singer Jake Roche, Jesy, 25, told Z100: "When you break up with someone, it's awful. Is it not one of the worst pains? It's horrendous and we all need a sad song that you sit and cry to. At the end of the day, though, you need something that makes you feel empowered. It makes you think, 'You know what I don't need you anymore. I'm going to go out with my girls and I'm going to get over you because I don't need you.' And that's exactly what 'Shout Out To My Ex' does."

Little Mix - which also includes Leigh Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards - hope that their track will help empower women going through a horrible split. She explained: "We have each other luckily, so we experience everything together and we've always got each other's backs... I think being named role models kind of happened just naturally, we never really asked for it. Which is lovely, I love the fact that girls look up to us and we empower people and inspire them."
Jesy became engaged to Jake in July 2015, although the pair said they were in "no rush" to exchange vows. Split rumours circulated last month when Jesy unfollowed the singer on Instagram and was consequently pictured not wearing her diamond ring.

Jake, who is the son of Coleen Nolan and Shane Richie, got down on one knee on stage at Manchester Arena in July – one year to the day that he first met Jesy. Ed Sheeran made a special effort to help his friend pull off the perfect engagement by performing his track Tenerife Sea in the background.
