Songs we want Lady Gaga to perform at the Super Bowl

January 19, 2017

Excitement is starting to build over Lady Gaga's upcoming performance at the Super Bowl on Feb. 5. Now, Pepsi has released some spots of the star preparing for the performance.

The clip shows the 30-year-old trying on costumes, practicing choreographed moves and trying out hair and makeup looks as she prepares for a concert. What makes the video even more impressive is that Billboard reports the New York native will tackle the task of entertaining the football-loving crowd herself; historically, there have been more than one performer during the halftime show. That means there will be a lot of time for the chart-topper to fill. It shouldn't be a hard task given she has so many snappy tunes.

Here, we dream up our ultimate Lady Gaga setlist...

Bad Romance

This 2009 hit is as catchy today as it was when it was first released. It went on to win the star Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal.

Paparazzi

Who wouldn't love a song that features not only the Mother Monster, but also a very handsome Alexander Skarsgård in its video?

Born This Way

This is one of the songstress's most empowering tunes. Its lyrics focus on self-empowerment and when it was released in 2011 it quickly became a ballad for minority and LGBT groups around the world. The anthem reached the top spot in over 25 countries and is reminiscent of Madonna's Express Yourself.

Telephone

Even though Gaga is determined to perform solo, we imagine that she wouldn't turn down an offer from Queen Bey to perform their iconic duet.

Just Dance

No Gaga performance would be complete without a rendition of the song that made her famous. It's infused with a bubbly beat that will get even the most die-hard rocker moving their feet.

Edge of Glory

The third single off 2011's Born This Way is guaranteed to have the stadium dancing

Perfect Illusion

We suspect the Grammy winner will break out a few tunes from her latest project Joanne. And while the debut single PI is perfection, we hope Gaga puts a Super Bowl-worthy spin on Million Reasons.

While most people are excited about Gaga's performance -- regardless of what she sings -- ET is reporting organisers have asked her to focus on her music and to avoid making the event "political". Specifically, a source told the publication that, "Lady Gaga was told by the NFL that she cannot say anything or bring anything up about the election, or mention Donald Trump." (She was a vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton.)

Regarding the rumours, a representative for the NFL said: "People will have to wait and see what we have in store -- we never comment on speculation about the show because there is so much misinformation that surfaces. But we are confident Lady Gaga will put on a tremendous show for fans."
