The wait is over! The music video for Ed Sheeran's new song Castle on the Hill has arrived and it features an actor who bares an uncanny likeness to Ed, taking on the role of his former self. Filmed in the 25-year-old's native Framlingham, Suffolk, the coming-of-age video is a snapshot into the star's teen years.
Taking to his social media pages, Ed revealed the actors in the video were all residents from his hometown. "Loved filming this in Fram," he told his follower. "All these kids are actually from my high school!"
"My dad had a bit of fun a couple of years after I was born," Ed previously joked. "Because he does look quite similar."
It's been a few weeks since the singer/songwriter released his third studio album, he has since been busy promoting two of his comeback singles Castle On The Hill and Shape Of You - his first releases since 2015. Speaking about his monumental comeback, Ed said: "Hello 2017! I've been working hard on the new material and I hope you can be as excited about it as I am. I really wanted to show two different sides to my music that I'm equally as passionate about and I just knew I wanted to roll with two songs at the same time. I'm absolutely buzzing to be back."
Ed's latest offering, '÷', follows his previous record-breaking, multimillion-selling albums 'x' and '+'. The British star scored his first Ivor Novello win in 2011 with The A Team where he won Best Song Musically and Lyrically. His first album has now sold over 9 million albums worldwide, while his follow-up multi award-winning album has gone onto become one of the most significant and record-breaking albums of this millennium.
Talking about his new music, Ed said: "The reaction to my new singles has been absolutely mind-blowing and I can’t thank you enough. My new album ÷ holds a very special place in my heart and I really believe this is my best work to date."
