Amir Khan and his wife Faryal have been forced to defend their marriage, saying "everything is fine between us". The couple made a joint, united appearance on This Morning, saying that their relationship is "going really well" despite Faryal's reported ongoing feud with her in-laws.

Speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield live from San Francisco, where Amir is preparing for his next fight, the boxer said: "We are here actually today to show everyone that all those divorce rumours and what's been being said in the media is not true. We're not coming to cause problems, it's really just to show that our marriage is completely fine and we are doing quite well."

Amir, 30, admitted that it was "very hard" being in the middle of the family feud. His wife Faryal has reportedly had a strained relationship with her in-laws.

"Our marriage is completely fine and we are doing quite well," said Amir

"Obviously I love my wife, I love my family and I'm right in the middle," said Amir. "But I hope things do get sorted out. I speak to my parents now and then, things are getting better and we just want to be one happy family again."

He added: "I want my family and my wife to get along with each other and respect each other, that's the main thing so that way we can come to the UK after the fight, hopefully after we have a good win, and we can all live like a happy family."

The couple's marriage has been rocked by reports of the ongoing feud, but Amir and Faryal, who share a two-year-old daughter Lamaisah together, are adamant that they are doing just fine.

"The marriage is brilliant, it's going really well. You know everything is fine between us," Amir reiterated during the interview.

Faryal, 25, added: "Our main priority is Amir's next fight. All this is just the past that is coming back to kind of put us down so all we need to do is rub it off and be happy."
