What a week it's been for Ant and Dec! Two days after triumphing at the National Television Awards, the TV duo have been awarded OBEs. The beloved stars proudly posed with their wives outside Buckingham Palace ahead of Friday's investiture ceremony, which was conducted by Prince Charles.

Dressed to impress, Ant and Dec had coordinated in matching tuxedos, while their wives brought extra glamour to the proceedings; Dec's partner Ali Astall wearing a knee-length black coat and fascinator, and Lisa Armstrong in a long navy gown and matching fur jacket.

The TV presenters were honoured by the Prince of Wales for their services to broadcasting and entertainment. Despite building up a career around their partnership, they were briefly parted to receive their awards separately under their real names, Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

Prince Charles looked delighted to see the duo, and spent time talking to each as he presented them with their OBEs. The royal is well acquainted with the stars, having allowed them unprecedented access for a special documentary celebrating 40 years of The Prince's Trust.

And Ant and Dec are certainly big fans of Charles. Asked at the palace which royal they would want in the I'm A Celebrity jungle, they told ITV: "Charles for sure. he's an outdoors sort of fella! He's probably win it."

Friday's investiture ceremony topped an incredible few days for Ant and Dec, both 41. On Wednesday, they enjoyed huge success at the NTAs, taking home the prize for best TV presenter for the 16th year in a row. "We are thrilled," Dec said, as they accepted the trophy. "If anything we get grateful more and more each year."
