David Beckham has revealed that he and his wife Victoria have renewed their wedding vows.
Speaking about their lavish wedding back in 1999 during the 75th anniversary edition of Radio 4's Desert Island Discs, the retired footballer said: "We did throw a lot at it. We have renewed our vows since then and it was a lot more private, there were about six people there in our house." Speaking about their memorable outfits on their original big day, David joked: "Victoria's was pretty nice. Mine, I'm like, 'What was I thinking?' I even had a top hat in purple. What was I thinking?"

He also opened up about his 17-year marriage with the fashion designer. "Of course you make mistakes over the years," he admitted. "We all know marriage is difficult at times and it's about working through it. Whenever we've come up against tough times, we know each other better than anybody knows us so we talk. Do we stay together because it's a brand? Of course not. We stay together because we love each other. We stay together because we have four amazing children. Of course we go through tough times. When we go through tough times we work through it as a unit, as a family."

It was recently revealed that the couple could be moving to the countryside with their four children, Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 11 and five-year-old Harper after the 41-year-old visited a Grade II-listed Cotswald barn conversion worth a reported £5million before Christmas. He also has previously opened up about how much he enjoys spending time in the countryside, saying: "I love going to pubs in the countryside, or to my local pub, where everyone knows me and I don't get bothered."
