Seven weeks after Alan Thicke's untimely death, his son Carter Thicke is opening up about his final moments. The 19-year-old was by his dad's side when he suffered a fatal heart attack in December. The duo had been playing a game of pick-up hockey -- something the Growing Pains star loved -- at a local rink in Burbank, Calif.

"The ambulance came and the paramedics had stabilized him and everything seemed fine," Carter told ET. He went on to say that he got a few moments to say a proper goodbye to his father before he passed away. "I got to give him a hug and said, 'I love you,' and that was the last time I saw him."

The teen wrapped up the interview by calling Alan "the perfect dad." It was an interview that echoed the sentiments Carter shared to Instagram in the wake of the actor's passing.

On Dec. 13, he shared a photo of himself and his dad at an event with a heartfelt caption:

"Today I lost my best friend and my idol, and the world lost one of it's finest. I have never known a more kind, loving, hairy, and generous person in my life and I am forever grateful for the light that this man brought to my life and so many others," he wrote. "You will be missed every second of every day. You are a legend and I love you Pops. Until next time."

Robin Thicke, Carter's older half-brother, made a similar declaration on the social media site. "He was the best man I ever knew," the singer wrote. "The best friend I ever had. Let's all rejoice and celebrate the joy he brought to every room he was in. We love you Alan Thicke. Thank you for your love. Love, your grateful son."

The 69-year-old actor was honoured at a private funeral service in late-December. It was attended by his Growing Pains cast members, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Joanna Kerns, Kirk Cameron, Tracey Gold and Jeremy Miller.
