The news comes one year after Kylie, 48, and Joshua, 29, announced their engagement in the forthcoming marriages section of the Daily Telegraph, in February 2016. The notice read: "Mr J.S. von Sasse and Miss K.A. Minogue. The engagement is announced between Joshua, so of the late Dominic Sasse and of Mary Heale (neé Macauley) of Herefordshire and Kylie, eldest daughter of Ronald and Carol Minogue of Melbourne, Australia."

It's been reported that the singer decided to call off the wedding over her concerns about Joshua's friendship with Spanish actress Marta Milans. A source told the Sun that the star was "absolutely devastated" and "totally heartbroken" over her split from Joshua, adding; "She really believed her was The One. But she no longer trusts him."

The sad news comes just two weeks after Kylie opened up about her plans to take Joshua's surname after their wedding. "Sasse is a great name. Kylie Sasse is a great name," she said. "It's a great stage name. Kylie Minogue has never exactly tripped off the tongue. I’ll definitely be taking Sasse but there will be a Minogue in there somewhere. Taking a different name makes a statement."
The couple first met in 2015 on the set of Galavant and announced their engagement in February 2016
She added: "When I look into Josh's eyes, he is all I see and that make me very happy. There's a line in the movie Notting Hill that I always think of, when Julia Roberts is talking to Hugh Grant, and she says, 'I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.' For me, it's that simple."
