There's nothing like sibling rivalry to bring out your competitive side – something Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews knows all too well. The 27-year-old has admitted that he and big brother James – Pippa Middleton's fiancé – have always faced off in a series of challenges whether at home or enjoying a family holiday. "I grew up in a family with two older brothers and we competed with absolutely everything, despite the fact that they were 13 years older" he told HELLO!. "I grew up losing to them, at everything!"
Spencer's competitive streak could come in handy for his latest venture, as he takes on The Jump alongside stars including Sir Bradley Wiggins and Louis Smith. However, the heartthrob admitted that he's been impressed by the efforts of all of the contestants, so losing would be bittersweet.
Spencer Matthews has opened up about his rivalry with big brother James
"Losing is the enemy!" he quipped. "I try and do it in a modest manner. I'd be happy for anyone to win this show - we’re putting a long time and a lot of effort into it. A lot of sweat blood and tears. So whoever comes out on top will get a huge hug and a big congratulations from me. But, ideally, I would like that person to be me."

Spencer is no stranger to winter sports, although he admits that brother James is a stronger skier, with Spencer having preferred snowboarding in previous years. "I went skiing with my brother - well I went snowboarding and he was skiing, and he was boarding at the time because he wanted to be a boarder, but he went straight back to skiing!" he explained, before joking: "I’m a better boarder than him. He’s never been on a snowboard since. So, I’m looking forward to finishing this and going skiing with him!"

No doubt Spencer will be putting sibling rivalries aside this year as he attends James' wedding to the Duchess of Cambridge's sister Pippa Middleton, where he is tipped to be best man. The couple are set to tie the knot in a romantic ceremony on Saturday 20 May, surrounded by close family. The wedding of the year will take place at St Marks' Church with the reception taking place back at the Middletons' family home in Bucklebury, seven miles away. Although the guest list has not been confirmed, Pippa's nephew Prince George, who turns four next July, is reportedly set to be a pageboy and Princess Charlotte, who will just have celebrated her second birthday, a flower girl.
