Britney Spears took to Instagram on Monday, 6 February, to ask fans to pray for her niece, Maddie Aldridge, who remains in critical condition following her off-road vehicle accident. As HELLO! reported previously, Jamie Lynn Spears’ eight-year-old daughter Maddie was rushed to hospital on Sunday after an incident which occurred during a hunting expedition.

According to reports, the little girl was airlifted to hospital on Sunday after the Polaris ATV she was driving flipped over into a pond of water.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office told Us Magazine on Monday that Maddie was “reported to be in stable but critical condition." The child was then airlifted to hospital in New Orleans. Maddie was born when Jamie Lynn was just 17 years old. Her father is Jamie Lynn's ex-boyfriend Casey Aldridge. Jamie Lynn has spoken about her little girl in the past, telling People magazine, "She's got such a sweet little heart. I feel like I've raised her with a lot of honesty, but I've also raised her with a lot of love. She's a very happy, content little girl, and there's nothing more a parent could ask for. That's my most proud accomplishment out of anything and always will be."
