A self-confessed foodie, Phillip admitted that he has a certain breakfast ritual he adheres to every day before heading to This Morning. "We do the same thing every day because we're always out so it's the only part of the day that's actually the same," he explained. "I arrive at about half eight, but if traffic's bad about nine o'clock, I have three slices of toast and marmite – that's my breakfast, it's not very glamorous – and a strong cup of tea. I have it very, very strong, very little milk and one sugar."

Aware of his friend's passion for food, Jamie caught up with Phillip during the evening and took him into the restaurant's kitchens to give him a sneak peek at how the meat is prepared. The pair took to social media to give fans a glimpse of their antics as they posed by the ovens and grills. "The man @jamieoliver and some serious steak!! @BArbecoa_london," quipped Phillip in the accompanying caption.

Speaking to HELLO!, the TV star admitted he was floored by Jamie's talent when it comes to all things food. "He's got the absolute pinnacle of pit to make meat perfect – he just showed me!" he said. "It's funny what gets you excited, but he's just shown me a two-tonne Texas smoker – there's only a handful of them in the UK – and it smokes meat to perfection." With diners able to watch the chefs at work through a large glass cover, Phillip added: "I could stand looking through that window and watch the meat cook for hours!"
