Justin Timberlake has opened up about the real reason NSYNC went their separate ways after announcing their 'hiatus' back 2002. The star revealed that he decided not to return to the band as he "cared about the music" more than some of his fellow band members did. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he said: "I was growing out of it. I felt like I cared more about the music than some of the other people in the group. And I felt like I had other music I wanted to make and that I needed to follow my heart. We were on a stadium tour, and I just felt like the whole thing was too big. It started out as a fun snowball fight that was becoming an avalanche."

The multiple Grammy, Emmy and Brit-award winning artist went on to find amazing success in his solo career, but recently spoke frankly about how he struggled to find a balance between work and fatherhood after he and his wife Jessica Biel welcomed their baby son Silas in 2015. "At first, it broke me down," the Cry Me a River singer admitted. "Those first eight months felt like those old shows where people are balancing spinning plates on poles — except if you drop one, they die."

He also spoke about young Silas's future, revealing that he was unsure if he'd want his son to follow his footsteps into fame. "Would I want my child to follow my path?" he said. "You know, I haven't been able to answer that question in my mind. If he wanted it bad enough, I suppose I could teach him a lot about what not to do." The 36-year-old also spoke about growing up as a child star in the Mickey Mouse Club. "I have some faint images from my childhood, but no, I can't really remember not being famous," he confessed.
