David has previously opened up about the importance of family time, telling HELLO!: "My family is the biggest accomplishment I have. I'm so proud of Victoria and my children; they're my greatest achievement." He also spoke about his 17-year marriage to Victoria during an appearance of Desert Island Discs, explaining: "We all know marriage is difficult at times and it's about working through it… Do we stay together because it's a brand? Of course not. We stay together because we love each other. We stay together because we have four amazing children. Of course we go through tough times. When we go through tough times we work through it as a unit, as a family."
