Iman shared a beautiful tribute to her late husband David Bowie as she celebrated her second Valentine's Day without him. The model took to her Instagram page on Tuesday to post a candid black and white picture of the pair, writing in the caption: "My forever Valentine." She also added the hashtags #BowieForever and #ValentinesDay. The iconic singer, who produced hit singles Let's Dance and Fame, died last January after losing his 18-month battle to liver cancer. The couple are parents to 16-year-old daughter Alexandria. David was also father to Duncan Jones from his first marriage to Angie Bowie.

On the first anniversary of his death last month, Iman uploaded a photograph of a double rainbow which was spotted over New York City on the day David died. "Jan 10th, 2016 NYC Skyline #ForeverAndEver #ForeverLove #BowieForever," she wrote. The past 12 months have proved to be particularly challenging for Iman. Less than three months after her husband died, the 61-year-old lost her mother Maryan Abdulmajid.

Speaking at the Save the Children's Fourth Annual Illumination Gala in October 2016, the model spoke about their humanitarian partnership. "David was also a staunch supporter of human rights and devoted an innumerable amount of time and resources, which he chose to do anonymously," she told the audience. "I share this award with him, knowing that the fire in him lit the fire in me, and vice versa. Good partnerships have a habit of doing that."

Iman was married to David Bowie for 24 years

David Bowie: a look back at an incredible life in pictures

Shortly before David's death, the mother-of-two opened up about the secret to their happy 24-year marriage. "We both understand the difference between the person and the persona," she explained. "When we are home, we are just Iman and David. We're not anybody else." The 61-year-old continued: "I think the secret to a lasting marriage is timing, first of all. You have to be at the right time in your life that you're ready for an everlasting relationship, that it becomes first, and a priority in life. If your career is important to you, don’t get married and have children, because something will give."
