Harry Needs may not be married to Rebecca Adlington anymore, but that certainly hasn’t stopped the pair from remaining the best of friends. To mark Becky’s birthday, Harry made sure to show his appreciation for his ex-wife, branding her an 'idol' in a heartwarming Instagram message. "Happy birthday @beckadlington, thanks for being such a stupendous mother to both of ours better half, and have an marvellous day #QueenB #tunaroll #birthday #cake#idol #mum." Harry chose to caption his message with a photo of the duo and their young daughter, Summer, who can be seen smiling sweetly in Harry's arms. The picture, which was taken on Summer's first birthday last June, shows Harry sporting a fun party hat, while Becky looks elegant in a fashionable patterned dress.

Taking to Instagram to show her appreciation, birthday girl Becky, who turned 28 today commented: "Thank you Hazza xxx." Fans were also thrilled that the duo remain on such good terms, with one follower writing: "This is so lovely even though you aren't together such care for each other is rare!! Happy birthday @beckadlington xx."

Although the couple sadly parted ways in March after 18 months of marriage, they have remained "best friends" and are both dedicated to co-parenting their young daughter. Becky has previously spoken out about their separation, telling the Irish Mirror: "It's not like we're talking, because we are – we talk all the time. We are both just working hard on trying to be good parents, and our total focus is on our daughter."

Giving an insight into their little girl's personality, Becky gushed: "She's only nine months old but her personality is coming out – she's already so independent, and knows exactly what she wants to do… so she's a bit like me." And young Summer could well be an Olympian in the making, thanks to her very strong sporting genes: "We are both so sporty so we take her swimming, and I would be very surprised if Summer doesn't grow up to be very sporty and active." Rebecca and Harry married in Leek, Staffordshire in August 2014, and they lived together in Stockport with Summer, who was born in June 2015 until their separation.
