Kylie Minogue has opened up about her split from Joshua Sasse for the first time, saying that it "wasn't meant to be". The Australian star chatted to The Sunday Herald Sun about the end of her engagement, telling them: "'It wasn't meant to be and so I look forward to moving on, richer for the experience. I haven't had the white picket fence and happy ever after in my life, so far, but perhaps that's just not my destiny. I know love and I love to be in love."

The pair announced their split in early February
The Can't Get You Out of My Head singer announced the news that she had parted ways from the actor in early February. Sharing an Instagram post of a sunset, she wrote: "#lovers ... Thank you for all your love and support throughout this recent chapter of my life. Thank you now for your love and understanding with the news that Josh and I have decided to go our separate ways. We wish only the best for each other as we venture towards new horizons. #thesunalwaysrises." Kylie has been in good spirits since the split, and recently shared a snap of herself laughing while leaving a private jet while holding a balloon shaped in a heart.

Kylie spoke about her split from Joshua
The news came just one year after the pair originally announced their engagement in the marriages section of the Daily Telegraph. The post read: "Mr J.S. von Sasse and Miss K.A. Minogue. The engagement is announced between Joshua, so of the late Dominic Sasse and of Mary Heale (neé Macauley) of Herefordshire and Kylie, eldest daughter of Ronald and Carol Minogue of Melbourne, Australia." According to sources, the pair separated due to Kylie's concern over Joshua's relationship with Spanish actress Marta Milans, with a source telling The Sun: "She is absolutely devastated, totally heartbroken. She really believed he was The One. But she no longer trusts him."
