US Managing Editor
March 2, 2017

Gavin Rossdale split from ex-wife, singer Gwen Stefani, back in April 2016 after 13 years of marriage. In a recent interview with US Weekly, the singer has opened up about how the painful experience has given him a “perspective on life”. The Voice UK judge, who has three children with Gwen, Kingston, ten, Zuma, eight, and three-year-old Apollo, said: “There’s been a lot of pain and sadness. It really teaches you perspective on life. It’s really health, happiness and safety. After that, I don’t know what there is other than that.” The Bush frontman revealed how divorce was never in his plan: “We’re all products of nuclear families. My parents have been married three times each. I’m just a junior. I never thought I would get divorced. But it just happens. All these life things.” On getting married again in the future, Gavin admitted: “I’m not sure I’ll ever go at it again."

The doting dad also opened up about life as a single dad, saying: “I’m trying to be a really good dad and make good records and shoot good TV shows.” And it sounds like Gavin’s three boys are big fans of their dad’s music, and are set to come along for part of the Bush tour around the USA in May.“They’ll come for a couple of weeks if it’s during term of school time. It's brilliant, they just love it. They go mad," he revealed. Gavin is also the proud father of daughter, Daisy Lowe. Although Gavin and Daisy were initially estranged, the famous father and daughter have since reunited, and now have one of the strongest bonds in showbiz.

Currently, Gavin is busy working as a judge on the sixth series of The Voice UK, appearing alongside fellow judges will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson. Ironically Gwen Stefani is judging the American version of the show. Talking to The Guardian about his feelings toward the No Doubt singer, the 51-year-old replied: "She has a boyfriend and she's busy… but I wish her all the happiness in the world, and that's the true sign of love. As I'm sure your favourite artist Sting said: 'If you love someone, set them free.'"
