The Voice UK coach will.i.am has shared his delight over close friend Cheryl's relationship with One Direction star Liam Payne, amid rumours she has given birth to their first child. Speaking on Monday's Loose Women, the American musician refused to comment on whether the baby has been born. "I don't know if she has had the baby," he admitted. "She has been keeping it private, there are no details."

Commenting on the former X Factor judge's whirlwind romance with the 1D singer, will.i.am said he gives his full approval. "I've known her for a long time and she's been in and out of bad relationships," he remarked. "This one seems nurturing and growing fruit... excuse the pun. So she wants to protect the fruit by being private and intimate with her significant other. Her mum is amazing as well. She is a very cuddly mum." Both will.i.am and Cheryl have been close friends for several years. They even collaborated on her hit song, Heartbreaker, back in 2007.

The comments come weeks after Cheryl finally confirmed her pregnancy, after months of speculation. The 33-year-old proudly showed off her baby bump in a new campaign photo and video for L'Oreal and The Prince's Trust. Although the singer and her boyfriend Liam are yet to publicly comment on becoming parents for the first time, their romance is going from strength-to-strength. Just recently, Cheryl reportedly moved out of her Hertfordshire home and into Liam's house in Surrey. The A-list couple first met in 2008 when he was an aspiring singer on The X Factor and she was a judge. They started secretly dating in December 2015, shortly after Cheryl's split from her second husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.
