Tom and Giovanna Fletcher were on This Morning on Tuesday talking about Giovanna’s new book Happy Mum, Happy Baby. During their chat with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, doting husband Tom revealed that his wife’s body was criticised by staff in A&E, just 11 days after giving birth. Giovanna had previously spoken about being body shammed by a ‘fan’, who told her, "Mummy’s still got her tummy” but had said at the time that it was someone in the park. The fan, who had asked for a photo then went on to tell Giovanna, after she declined: “Ok maybe another time, when your face has slimmed down.” On the sofa, Tom told Holly and Phil what really happened that day: “It was someone who works in A&E. They were supposed to be looking after us,” he said. Looking shocked, Giovanna went on: “I’ve never said that bit before.”

Last March, Giovanna spoke out about the incident by posting a photo on Instagram, defending her post baby figure. She responded to the incident, which happened weeks after having her second son, Buddy, saying: "Yes, I still have a bump. But that bump kept my little baby boy safe for a whole nine months. That bump has filled my world with even more love and light than I knew possible. That bump is a miracle worker… My bump will slowly go over time, but I'll never stop being thankful to it and my body for everything it's given me."

The mum-of-two also spoke at the time from a video link via her home to This Morning, revealing that the incident had made her realise just how amazing a woman's body is: "I had got out the shower, dealing with my leaky boobs, and putting cream in all sorts of places that you do after you have a baby and I was stood in front of the mirror, and actually what the comment did is, it made me kind of look at my body and go, 'How do I feel about it? How do I feel about this new body that's changed after having two children?”

"And actually, 'it's amazing' was my thought. Bodies are miracles, and the fact that my body has grown two children is just phenomenal, so I decided to share that and it's made people share all sorts of stories which I really wasn't expecting."
