Cheryl shares empowering message on International Women’s Day

Cheryl is known to millions as being a strong and powerful female, and is a role model to fans around the world. In celebration of International Women’s Day, the star took to Instagram to big up all the women who have ‘handled it’ to reach their own goals and ambitions throughout their lives. Promoting determination and perseverance, Cheryl’s chosen quote by Elizabeth Gilbert was met with much appreciation from her followers. “So relate to this Cheryl. Amazing truthful quote and reality is that there is a lot of woman it relates to,” said one, while another commented: “So relatable you’re a huge inspiration to me.” The last line of the message branded such women superheroes: "They handled it in a thousand different ways on a thousand different days, but they handled it. Those women are my superheroes."

Cheryl is extremely close to the main woman in her life - her mum Joan

The pregnant singer is due to give birth any day now, with fans keeping a close eye on her and boyfriend, Liam Payne’s social media accounts in the lead up to the big reveal. Like all new mums, Cheryl has her very own female-led army at hand to help in the first few weeks of the birth, in particular her mother Joan.

Meanwhile, Cheryl will naturally turn to her best friends and former Girls Aloud bandmates, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh for support. The pop stars will be the perfect aunties to Cheryl's little one, in particular mum-of-two Kimberley, who can dish out parenting advice for the new mother. Kimberly has previously spoke of her delight for her best friend. "I am really happy that she's happy," she told TV Life. "I don't really want to go into too much detail on that because feel it's something that she should speak about, but to know she's happy makes me happy."
